Voivodeship Office – Department for Foreigners Affairs – THIS IS WHERE YOU LEGALIZE YOUR STAY AND WORK IN POLAND
One of the most important institutions you should know is the Voivodeship Office – Department for Foreigners’ Affairs.
This is a government institution responsible for matters related to foreigners who do not hold Polish citizenship. It is the main authority responsible for legalizing the stay and employment of foreign workers in Poland.
The Department for Foreigners
Affairs handles matters such as:
• Residence Cards,
• Work Permits.
This is the institution where you submit your residence card application and manage all related procedures.
IMPORTANT!
As of 27 April 2026, applications for a temporary residence permit, permanent residence permit, or EU long-term resident status in Poland must be submitted exclusively online via the new version of the Case Handling Module (MOS) platform.
Please remember! You must submit your application no later than on the last day of your legal stay in Poland.
If your application is submitted on time, your stay in Poland remains legal until a final decision is issued, even if your visa expires in the meantime.
Please remember! You are responsible for ensuring that your stay in the Republic of Poland remains legal.
Of course, we are here to provide you with assistance and advice at every stage of the application process.

NFZ – National Health Fund
YOUR FREE HEALTHCARE IN POLAND
Your health insurance contributions paid through ZUS are transferred to the NFZ (National Health Fund). This institution finances treatment in public hospitals and medical clinics.
You pay contributions — you receive FREE medical treatment in clinics marked with the NFZ logo. Your spouse and children can also receive free healthcare if they live with you in Poland. They must be registered through your employer.
If you want to use free healthcare services, you should first register at a local clinic.
There you will:
provide your personal information,
complete the necessary documents,
register with a general practitioner (family doctor).
If necessary, the doctor will refer you to a specialist within the NFZ system.
